All our classes are cross-genre, intentionally, so that students don’t need to pick a track, but can move fluidly between genres the way most of our faculty do. While the art of writing is our priority, we also focus on the art of publishing—students do internships every semester and take Publishing & Fieldwork in their first year, a year-long course during which the class morphs into an editorial team to produce a magazine from start to finish. We also have modular classes, taught by up to five faculty members from all over the world, who come to campus for intense 3-week modules. The best way for emerging writers to realize their talent is to study and pursue what brings them joy. Each writer’s path is distinct.
